Job Description:
Thumbs Up (Bury) ltd, manufacturers and distributes synthetic resins, plastic materials and elastomers. Working across the whole of the UK providing for the likes of ASDA, BnM and Argos. The company employs over 120 staff, working 24 hours per day to continue production of materials such as plastic containers, plastic plant pots and storage containers. You will be joining an expanding team and growing business who use the top of the range robotic machinery and equipment, who are looking for an Apprentice Machinist Engineer. Duties will include: General maintenance and refurbishments of machinery. Milling Turning(CNC and Manual) Grinding Read engineering drawings Working with power hand tools such as Drill, hand grinder Using hand tools. Files etc. Measuring using Micrometre and calipers. Stripping mould tools to perform general maintenance Repair of injection mould tools. Repair and maintain Hot runners (mould tool feed system) Polish tool faces. You will also have the opportunity to undertake TIG welding. This is a varied role ensuring that you are gaining the vital skills, knowledge and behaviours of working as an Engineering apprentice. You will attend Alliance Learning three days per week for the first year of programme where you will gain the vital hands on skills, knowledge and behaviours of working as an Engineer. |
