Alliance Learning Celebrates 60 Years of Apprenticeships & Training and Empowering Greater Manchester
Alliance Learning proudly marks its 60th anniversary this year, celebrating six decades of innovation, impact, and dedication to helping individuals and organisations unlock their full potential through education and professional development.
Founded in 1966 with a simple but powerful mission — to make learning accessible, practical, and transformative — Alliance Learning has grown from a small local training provider into a trusted learning and development partner serving thousands of learners across industries and communities.
Over the past 60 years, Alliance Learning has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of students, professionals, and employers. From starting with an employee count of 5 to now 50+ employees, the organisation has remained committed to delivering high-quality education that prepares people for success in an ever-changing world.
“Our 60th anniversary is more than a milestone — it is a celebration of every learner, educator, partner, and employer who has been part of our journey,” said Dave Haslam, Chief Executive Officer at Alliance Learning. “For six decades, we have believed that learning changes lives. That belief continues to drive everything we do as we look toward the future.”
Throughout its history, Alliance Learning has played a pivotal role in supporting workforce development, apprenticeships, leadership training, and lifelong learning initiatives. Generations of learners have gained qualifications, developed new skills, advanced their careers, and achieved personal growth through the organisation’s programmes.
The anniversary year has and will feature a series of events, alumni spotlights, and partner collaborations designed to honour the organisation’s legacy while inspiring the next generation of learners. Special celebrations will recognise long-serving staff, showcase learner success stories, and highlight the contributions of employers and community partners who have supported Alliance Learning over the decades.
As industries continue to evolve and technology reshapes the future of work, Alliance Learning remains focused on innovation, inclusion, and opportunity. Investments in employer partnerships, and future-ready skills programmes are helping ensure the organisation continues to deliver meaningful impact for years to come.
“Education is not just about gaining knowledge — it is about building confidence, creating opportunities, and strengthening communities,” added Jonathan Wetherby, Operations Executive Officer. “As we celebrate 60 years, we are also looking ahead with excitement and ambition for what the future holds.”
