Raising Awareness on White Ribbon Day at Alliance Learning

Our apprentices, staff, and colleagues came together to recognise and raise awareness of White Ribbon Day, an important occasion dedicated to ending violence against women and girls.

Celebrated annually on 25th November, White Ribbon Day inspires men to demonstrate their commitment to challenging harmful behaviours and cultures that perpetuate violence. This year’s theme reinforces the vital role men play in being active allies and part of the solution to creating a safer, more equitable society.

White Ribbon UK continues to lead the movement for change by encouraging individuals and organisations to take positive action. Their network of accredited organisations, supporters, ambassadors, and champions is instrumental in driving cultural shifts to prevent violence and foster respect.

As part of our commitment to this cause, our Metal Fabricator apprentices collaborated on a meaningful project to mark the day. They crafted a stunning sculpture, complemented by a plaque designed and produced by our Machinist apprentices. This impressive artwork now stands proudly at the entrance of our Training Centre, symbolising our shared dedication to the cause.

We were honoured to welcome Gill Smallwood, CEO of Fortalice Ltd, to officially unveil the sculpture. Fortalice, a Bolton-based organisation, provides vital support for individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse, offering refuge, advice, and advocacy. Their work aligns closely with the principles of White Ribbon Day, making their involvement even more significant.

At Alliance Learning, we believe in empowering our apprentices not only with skills for their careers but also with awareness and values that contribute to a better community. By participating in initiatives like White Ribbon Day, we aim to inspire the next generation to challenge harmful norms and work towards a safer, more inclusive society.

Let’s continue to stand together and support this crucial cause.
