What does a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprentice do?
The Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship course combines developing apprentices practical and theoretical skills, together with experience gained in the workplace. This course is designed to give the apprentice relevant training and education required to become a successful employee within engineering manufacture.

Due to industry and employer demand, Alliance Learning now offers the Lean Manufacturing Operative standard.
What are the entry requirements?
Candidates must be aged 16 or over and should have:
- Practical abilities and the desire to work with your hands
- High motivation and are keen to work in manufacturing
- The ability to follow instructions and diagrams
- The ability to work accurately and a good eye for detail
- Good communication and problem solving abilities
- Good numeracy and literacy abilities to work with data
- The ability to work on your own initiative, but also be a good team worker
What is the duration of the course?
The Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship takes approximately 12-18 months to complete and will involve a day release for the apprentice to attend our training centre.
Benefits of the Apprenticeship
Apprentices will be required to contribute, develop and support improvement in the manufacturing operation using continuous improvement methods, kaizen tools, process visualisation using lean principles and problem-solving tools and techniques.
What Qualifications will I gain?
This qualification offers an exciting and varied career for people to work in a technically advanced and innovative environment. You will also gain a EAL Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing qualification.
End Point Assessment:
An external assessor will be arranged to review all evidence, conduct a full observation and hold an interview with the apprentice to determine their ability in the role and ensure that the training has developed the apprentice’s competence within their role. The final grading based on all assessments and evidence provided will be scored on a Fail, Pass or Distinction basis.
Functional Skills in English and Maths Level 2:
Functional Skills are qualifications in Maths and English that equip learners with the practical skills needed to learn, live and work successfully. This will only be required if you haven’t already attained this level through GCSE.
