Childcare Academy (14-16 Year Olds)
The Alliance Learning Childcare Academy is established at our Radcliffe Training Centre and the programme is funded from Manchester Solutions. The Childcare Academy is similar in theory to the Engineering Academy but it is working within the Childcare and Development curriculum.
The students attend the academy one day a week. In their first year they attend the Alliance Learning Centre to learn the theoretical side of childcare and in their second year they undertake work placements in a nursery's throughout the Bury area. The placements provide the students with valuable experience in the work place and also help towards the NVQ framework.
The students are ultimately aiming to gain the Level 2 Technical Certificate in Children’s Care Learning and Development.
