Apprenticeships with Alliance Learning
Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes that combine on-the-job training with bite-size study. With an Apprenticeship you will have an actual job and be working towards qualifications whilst you are at work.
This means that you will be learning essential skills directly relevant to the job you are doing, to a standard set by the industry itself. Training will usually take place at one of our Greater Manchester based training centres, where you will develop your skills at a level and pace that suits your individual needs.
There are two levels of Apprenticeship courses: Apprenticeship – NVQ Level 2 and Advanced Apprenticeship – NVQ Level 3. An Alliance Learning tutor will advise you as to which level is most appropriate for you.
What will I be doing in an Apprenticeship?
During your Apprenticeship you will receive training, both at work and at one of our Greater Manchester training centres. The training will ultimately make you a skilled worker and will contribute to you gaining a number of qualifications.
There are four significant parts to Apprenticeship courses:
• A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at level 2 or level 3 - achieved through the tasks you do at work, NVQs are proof of your ability and practical skills.
• Technical Certificates – designed to improve your knowledge and understanding of specific topics related to your trade.
• Key Skills - general skills that are used in every job such as Communication, Application of Number, ICT and Working with Others.
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities – helps you understand your rights and responsibilities as an employee, and your employer’s responsibilities towards you and your training.
We offer the following Apprenticeship courses across Wigan, Bury, Bolton and Greater Manchester:
• Administration
• Customer Service
• Children’s Care Learning & Development
