Duration:
Approximately 12 months per qualification.
Target Group:
This is intended for careers in nursing homes, residential homes, supported living situations and domiciliary care.
Course Content:
NVQ Level 2: 6 units (4 Core, 2 Optional)
NVQ Level 3: 8 units (4 Core, 4 Optional)
NVQ Level 2 Units:
• Communicate with and complete records for individuals
• Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals
• Develop your knowledge and practice
• Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals
2 Optional Units - you choose, with guidance if needed, 2 units that are suitable for the environment you work in.
NVQ Level 3 Units:
• Promote effective communication for and about individuals
• Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment
• Reflect on and develop your practice
• Promote choice, well-being and protection of all individuals
4 Optional Units - you choose, with guidance if needed, 4 units that are suitable for the environment you work in.
Visits:
You will receive approximately 8-10 visits. These may vary depending on whether an in-house assessor is available or not.
