Awarding Body:

EMTA Awards Limited (EAL) is a leading UK awarding body for National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and their Scottish equivalents (SVQs) in the Engineering and Technology sector. On completion of the course, delegates will receive an EAL unit of competence.

Course Aim:

This course aims to provide basic working knowledge and practical experience in Metal Arc Welding.

Duration:

5 Days.

Target Group:

This course is designed for delegates with no prior knowledge or experience.

Course Content:

• Preparation and practice in welding fillets, corners and butts of varying thickness in flat position

• Practice in the operation of manual arc welding equipment including:
- Setting electrical conditions
- Earthing arrangements
- Selection of appropriate electrodes
- Normal maintenance and routine care

• Course review and evaluation
