Frequently asked questions
What is the role of Alliance Learning?
Throughout the Apprenticeship you will be supported and guided by a member of staff from Alliance Learning. They will work with you to:
• Recruit an apprentice or support your existing staff onto the Apprenticeship scheme
• Plan and design training programmes to meet your needs and those of the individual
• Provide training to support the learning which is taking place in the workplace
• Monitor the apprentices’ progress and provide help and support where necessary
• Ensure national quality standards
How long do Apprenticeships take?
Apprenticeships can vary in duration from 1-2 years depending on the vocation chosen.
Advanced Apprenticeships can vary in duration from 2-4 years depending on the vocation chosen.
How much time will the apprentice spend away from work?
Most of the training takes place in the workplace and we provide additional training, support, and assessment. Training at an Alliance Learning centre will depend upon the programme chosen, but typically range from weekly day release to once or twice a month. For some programmes release to a training centre may not be necessary. All training requirements will be agreed with you prior to the start of the programme. As the apprentice develops and matures, the benefits of the training will become apparent in the workplace as the skills and knowledge learnt are put into practice.
How much will it cost me?
Apprenticeships are fully funded for anyone aged 16 - 18 through the Skills Funding Agency (SFA), for anyone aged 19+ Apprenticeships will start from £70 per person.
