Customer Service
Alliance Learning offers Apprenticeships in Customer Service throughout Greater Manchester, if you want a career in a customer facing role, either over the phone, over the internet or face-face, this is the course for you!
What does the course involve?
• Dealing with all aspects of customer service over the phone, on the internet or face-to-face.
• Working in receptions, in call centres, retail/wholesale outlets, warehouses or based in an office environment.
• Carrying out general customer service duties in support of role.
Interested candidates should have the following skills & interests....
• Keyboard and computer skills
• Telephone skills
• Able to work quickly and accurately
• Spoken and written communication skills and the ability to relate to colleagues, other departments, outside companies and members of the public
• Able to work without close supervision
• An eye for detail
• Able to work as part of a team
• Problem solving ability
• Potential for further development
The programme consists of the following three areas:
1. NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service
The NVQ consists of 7 units – 2 mandatory and 5 optional and is assessed in the learners workplace. The learner produces a portfolio of evidence that is used to prove competence on a variety of customer service duties.
2. Key Skills
The two key skills are Application of Number Level 1 and Communication Level 2, which are English and Mathematics based. The learner may be exempt from these dependant on the GCSE grades they gained in English and Mathematics.
3. Technical Certificate
This covers knowledge and understanding of the business world and the activities that take place in a business organisation. Employment Rights & Responsibilities will also be covered, the Goverment has decided that everyone on an Apprenticeship programme must understand their responsibilities and rights within the working environment. Assessment is by assignment and a multiple choice computer based paper.
