Proctor & Gamble have worked with Alliance Learning for over 20 years and have their Apprenticeship programme firmly embedded within the company. Brin Morris is P&G Learning & Development Leader and oversees the company’s Apprenticeship programme, as someone who started his working life as an apprentice he is a huge supporter and knows first hand the benefits of Apprenticeships for both business and apprentices.
He explains: “It is very difficult to recruit external people who have the necessary skills to immediately work on our technology so we need to invest and train people ourselves. In addition, by taking young people into our programmes they grow within the culture of the company and mature in line with our philosophies and principles. The Apprenticeship programme is an integral part of P&G’s on-going learning development programme that ensures we have employees of the highest calibre.”
He pointed out: “We still recruit adult workers direct, which complements our Apprenticeship programme. The success of the programme is clearly visible as many former apprentices have climbed the career ladder here at P&G and forged out successful careers. I firmly believe in our Apprenticeship programme and always have done.”
